I first became interested in physical therapy after a high school project where I had to shadow a health care professional. I loved the environment and the amount of time that the therapist was able to send with their clients. After I graduated from college, I had the opportunity to spend my summer as a medical intern at Notre Maison/St. Joe’s orphanage in Port-Au-Prince Haiti. I got to work alongside doctors, dentists, and therapists as they cared for the children who lived at the orphanage. It was here that I truly feel in love with the therapy profession as I was able to see the children light up when they took their first steps or moved around independently for the first time.
I love getting the opportunity to meet my community. I am able to hear their stories, listen to their goals, and then be a small part in their journey to get back to enjoying life.
Seeing the transition from pain to joy is what gives me motivation to be the best therapist I can.
I have been able to start the aquatic therapy program as well as our PT Plus adaptive swimming lessons for adults and children with disabilities. Aquatics have been a passion of mine and I am grateful to bring these two services to my community!
Professionally I aspire to become a certified specialist, helping women and children build their strength and development through therapeutic and aquatic interventions. Personally, my goals include buying more land where I can start a small hobby farm and homestead with my family.
